weekend

We decided to make a flying trip last night over to Diamond to try to start moving the rest of our stuff over since the buyers were wanting to move in on the 1st. While we were there, I got a call from the realtor and she said they have decided to move in on the 15th. So I guess we didn't have to hurry. I'm not going to complain though because they still want to move in.

I had already called my dad to get a trailer on short notice (a guy in our church had offered me his but I'd told him that I would give him a weeks noticed before I needed it and I didn't think I had a week). So anyway, Dad is bringing that up Saturday and we are going to try to get the lawn-mowers, exercise bike, etc... I don't think Miranda and the children will go though.

Tonight is the Junior/Senior banquet at IBS and we will be going since Miranda is a faculty member. This will be an awkward social event since they are young adults rather than dull, boring middle-agers. I'm not sure what to talk about since I'm way out of the loop and am a proud member of the dull,boring middle-ager club. I'm guessing the economic philosophy of Milton Friedman won't be a hot topic. Or the weather. Or early 19th century polka music. Or anything other than who is dating who and various gossipy things.

I just got an email from the VP at my job where they are looking into getting a business presense on Twitter, MySpace, Facebook etc... Maybe I can get involved in that. I follow a few folks on Twitter (Stephen Fry and Robert Llewellyn) but I don't really get the idea. I signed up on Facebook but haven't done anything with that. Took me long enough to get into the blogging thing so I'm sure by the time I figure it out, it will be long gone (or at least, very uncool).
