Monett.

Well, I made it to Monett. Tonight I attempt to change the oil (medics will be on standby).

My dad met me in Chetopa last night to loan me their air mattress to sleep on. He had been talking to a guy that does Civil War re-enactments. I think he's trying to get me into that. He's attached to the 77th Pennsylvania. He mentioned that it was tough to find people willing to be on the Union side. Apparently people are still holding grudges over the Civil War (or War of Northern Aggression depending on your point of view). Slightly bizarre but not as much as Osama bin Laden holding a grudge over the Crusades (they ended in the 1200s!). This got me thinking. I don't have a grudge to hold against anyone. I don't feel a great attachment to the North or South. I don't have any repressed ancestry that I know of. My German heritage won't really work because they were typically the ones doing the repressing. My French heritage may have some hope though. Remember Napoleon was exiled to Elba. He was defeated at Waterloo by Wellingon. Wellington's Peninsular regulars (from the Spanish campaign) were defeated in 1812 by Andrew Jackson. Andrew Jackson isn't well loved by the Cherokee. This is a double slight!!! I have found my new cause! Vive L'Empereur!!!

I don't think Miranda would like me tromping all over Oklahoma pretending to be shot anyways. Sorry about that... I'm back to talking about Civil War re-enactments. The uniforms also aren't as cool as my cause either. That's right! A bicorne hat. Maybe I can find a Waterloo or Austerlitz (he won that one) re-enactment.

Anyway... off track again.

It stinks being in Diamond by yourself. McDonald's for breakfast, McDonald's for lunch, anything but McDonald's for supper! Now I remember what it was like being single.
