lucky.

We are very lucky here in "fly-over" country. I found this article about a Happiness Index. Kansas ranks #3, and a majority of the top 15 are in the Mid-West. It must be the slower pace of life. Interestingly enough, Missouri was down to #15. The bottom 3 are also interesting: California, Florida, and Oregon.

Money definitely doesn't come into play with happiness with one catch. You have to have enough to live on or you aren't that happy no matter where you live. I know I could make a lot more money if I wanted to live in the Northeast, but let's face it... It's the Northeast. I went to Lititz, PA to work at Susquehanna Bank at my last job. We went out in January. That was the last time I will ever visit the Northeast in winter. It was evil cold. You have to be insane to live up year round, although it would be nice in the summer to avoid the oppressing humidity around here.
