request.
This is primarily directed to Vicki Clifton but anyone can join in. I am wanting to play one song on the piano. The song is Traumerei by Schumann (that I've linked before) and here is the sheet music. It doesn't look real tough but I'm not a sheet music guy and I guarantee that it's much more difficult than it looks or sounds. To repeat: I don't want to learn to play the piano, but I just want to play this one song. Is it possible?

Bill....you can read music, right? The 'grade' level of this music isn't that tough. But the whole part of the song is playing with expression and letting each note be clear and yet blend together. If you just play by ear, I can help you sometime. Or even if you do read notes. Start with learning the melody line....mostly stems up. Then add the harmony. In classical music there are several lines of 'melody' going together. Finally get the right all together. Then divide the left hand up and learn it the same way. Break the piece into small sections and learn a section at a time. BTW, I listened to it and the video is playing the exact notes of the print out so it is an authentic version. You just have to be aware of that.
Should have come to the recital last night at the school....the kids that played did wonderful. The most of adults and kids who sat in the audience were so horrid I wanted to cry. Nellie would have been an angel there even if she was running the halls! (ie Library post) We had outside people from town. They were the best behaved. What's this area coming to? I know people already think I think I'm high and mightier than most around here. Not true. Just want some sense of decorum! I was sooooo embarrassed. Anyway, I'll help you with it if you need help.
I can read music given enough time (FACE etc...). I was wondering if he was playing exactly the notes so that's good!
We were wondering what was going on at the school. Wasn't sure what it was. Miranda must have forgotten.
Thanks for your help on this and I may be getting with you when I get started. First I have to get ink for the printer to print the music out.
