Sigh!

So we bought a season of "Dirty Jobs". They are very entertaining but some of the jobs are horrible. Included in the one we bought was two jobs from Louisiana. One of them was with Vexcon in Shreveport and they went into a house loaded with roaches. It was scarily disgusting. One of the bad things about Louisiana (especially Southern Louisiana) is that since you are living in the swamp, you cannot keep roaches and other bugs out of the house. Pretty much no matter what you do.

The next episode was a crawdad fisherman in the swamps. The water was muddy and the boat got high-centered so Mike Rowe had to get out and drag the boat through the swamp. He standing in water up to his knees and asks why his leg is burning. Apparently there is so much bacteria in the water that it causes rashes almost as soon as you get in (not to mention alligators). So I said to Miranda... "Better to get used to seeing that because it's our new home". She flat out told me "No!". I will never get her to move there. Roaches, bacteria, swamps, 95% humidity, and French people (more roaches)... just not her cup of tea.
