update:

Out of surgery and back in the room. Doing fine. HOWEVER. Apparently one of the wires really didn't have a good place to go. So if this doesn't work as expected then another surgery will be required to put the wire on the outside of the heart. Of course we are expecting another surgery. I wish they could just get something done.
