Happy Cinco de Mayo

Today is Cinco de Mayo (5th of May) and it is the anniversary of the French defeat by Mexico. Here is a humorous take on the French military history. I'm not sure how big of a celebration it really is in Mexico as Miranda taught with a Mexican teacher and it wasn't a big deal in her region. I'm not really knowledgeable about Mexico though.

Back is feeling much better today. The doctor said that I would be fairly sore for a couple of days. I'm about 90% so it's all good.

Today is leg 2 of Manchester United vs Arsenal. I worked with a guy from England at my previous job and he was a huge United fan, so I guess I'm rooting for them. They should win but you never know.

Really getting frustrated with my Cherokee class. I just don't have the time to really study and memorize the words. Not sure it's going to work out. I don't have that much problem with French words but they are quite a bit like English words. Cherokee is a polysynthetic language which basically means that they create new words by using descriptions. As a bad example, snow might mean "white stuff falling from sky". I'm sure they have a word for snow but that's just an example. So you end up with 10-15 syllable words that are tough to memorize. And we haven't even got to verbs and stuff. My only consolation is that it doesn't really matter as I'm doing it for fun anyway. The problem is that with no success, the fun is being replaced with frustration.
